Kesariwada - (Fifth Manache Ganpati)


This is the Ganpati worshiped by Lokmanya Tilak. The Ganpati was worshiped in Vinchurkar wada where Tilak used to stay in year 1893. The Ganpati was worshipped in wada for several days & also the Kesari paper was started in same wada. The Ganpati was shift to the Gaikwad Wada in 1905. This Gaikwad wada then came to be known as Kesari wada. Here the wada display the history of the Great Freedom Fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The Kesariwada Ganpati has two idols one of silver which is made as per mentioned by Sant Dhyaneshwar & other is of shadu soil. Every year the idol of shadu soil is made by famous artist Gokhale. The silver idol is different from others which has 6 hands. The first hand has its modak,second hand to give blessings,third hand has parsu(weapon),fourth hand holds Pashakunsh,fifth hand holds moon & sixth hand holds elephant teeth. The silver idol is made by famous jeweler of Pune P.N.Gadgil. The mandal every year organizes cultural programs. This Ganpati is ranked fifth in Manache Ganpati.
