पुण्यातील गणेशोत्सव इतिहास

The Pune which is known as 'Vidyache Mahergar'.But its also known for Ganpati festival. Actually Ganpati is Pune's 'Gramdaivat'.People are very energetic in Ganpati festival.The enthusiasm is so high that sky is the limit.

The Ganeshotsav was first started in Pune city.There are some disputes that who started the festival first,but as per old statement the festival was started in 1892 by Bhau Saheb Rangari (Bhausaheb Laxman Javale). After that the festival was made Sarvajanik (means to gather all people) by Bhal Gangadhar Tilak in 1894.

The Ganesh Festival was started to bring people together to educate & to bring awareness for freedom against British rule.
